I'm Keerthana. I've heard almost every nickname possible. Pick whatever one you think fits. I'll answer to all of them.

I am a full time scientist, and part time artist & designer. I graduated from the University of Tennessee with my Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry and Cellular & Molecular Biology.

Art and science have been the two things I have been the most passionate about for as long as I can remember. Now, being able to work in science, while continuing creating art, has been the biggest dream come true. 

​

I gave myself the title of an "artist" at a very young age. Painting, drawing, and creating art with multiple types of mediums has been a part of my life for as long as I could remember. In elementary school, art was always my favorite class. I would look forward to going to the art room every single day. Throughout middle school and high school, I would eat lunch in the art room, and spend the entirety of my study halls up there too. I would constantly be creating, and trying to improve my technique.

My sophomore year of college, I started my small business, Art By Keerthana. I specialized in custom watercolored house and pet portraits.

Now, I work full time as a scientist, and I love every second of it. In my free time, I still work on my small business, and continue creating paintings for others. Creating pieces for my community to gift to loved ones is so special, and I am so glad the Knoxville community has supported me throughout the years.
